Blandina Bayard was the first European woman settler in the Ramapo Valley. She, her daughter in-law Rachel and her nephew, Lucas Kierstedt, operated a trading post until Lucas left the area in 1752. This tableau is a lifesize exhibit showing realistic period dress of both the Europeans and the Native Americans. It is used successfully to explain "trade" to elementary school students.
The Museum receives operating support from the New Jersey Historical Commission, Department of State
