DONALD COOPER RAILROAD

Donald Cooper RR
Donald Cooper Railroad

THE DONALD COOPER RAILROAD IS OPEN WEEKENDS 1-5 PM

The expansion of the museum’s spectacular Donald Cooper Railroad continues to entertain children of all ages with seven trains running at a time. Children marvel at "Thomas the Tank Engine" as he makes his way around the modular scenery. Adults enjoy the detail of the subway as it winds its way through the grimy tunnels. Thirty car coal trains take large sweeping curves as they climb the grades of the two-track man line.

The recently completed “Blue Line” is the home to our passenger main. Two passenger trains make their way past steep cliffs high above the falls. The connector track running between the two main lines winds its way over the Paterson Falls then makes its way through a deep rock cut joining the “Blue Line” on one of two bridges.

Come visit our railroad to see it in action. See our new collection of Lionel “O” Gauge trains representing railroads all across the country and all types of Locomotives.

This exhibit is made possible through the generous donations of Renee and Ebrima Darboe of Mahwah, New Jersey and the Margolis family of Ramsey, New Jersey.

Admission to the railroad is included in your ticket to the museum. If you are interested in model railroading we would welcome you as a member of our train crew. The only requirement is a love of the hobby and membership in the Mahwah Museum Society. Click here to email the chief of our train crew or call us at 201.512.0099 and leave a message.

The Museum receives operating support from the New Jersey Historical Commission, Department of State.
