NEW JERSEY'S MILLS
April 15, 2010
During the Nineteenth Century there existed in New Jersey over 1000 grist, saw, cotton, silk, and wool mills, providing inhabitants with food, shelter, and clothing. Historian Phil Jaeger will discuss these water-powered mills. Find out what happened to these mills over the years and, surprisingly, which ones still function today. Mr. Jaeger is a trustee for both the Passaic County Historical Society and the Cedar Grove Historical Society.
