LONG POND IRON WORKS

LONG POND IRON WORKS POSTCARD
February 18, 2010

In 1765 the first ironmaster in this region, Peter Hasenclever, began building Long Pond Ironworks in West Milford.  Ringwood Manor was already in production, having started in the early 1740s.  Paul Frost, Iron Industry Historian and member of the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks will provide an in-depth history of the 175-acre Historic Landmark that made iron for both the American Revolution and the Civil War, the village, and the trail that linked Long Pond to Ringwood Manor.
